Garmin Avionics Upgrade for Brazilian Air Force EMB-120 Fleet

The recent project undertaken by Worldwide Aircraft Services Inc. (WASI) to upgrade the avionics suite on the first of the Brazilian Air Force’s (FAB) fleet of 13 EMB-120 aircraft has been successfully completed. This initiative was part of a strategic effort between WASI and the FAB to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and navigation capabilities across the fleet, aligning with the Brazilian Air Force’s commitment to maintaining high standards of aviation safety and performance.  As a part of this effort, WASI incorporated training of the FAB personnel on-site to allow for additional installations to be completed at their base(s) in Brazil as needed in the future and to gain an understanding of the complex systems for continued support of the fleet.

Project Overview

The project involved retrofitting the aircraft with the latest Garmin G700TXi avionics package, which includes advanced Flight Displays, Navigation, communication, and surveillance technologies. These systems are designed to improve pilot situational awareness, streamline mission-critical operations, and ensure seamless integration with other onboard systems. The installation and integration process commenced in June of 2025. Over the course of the last few months, the aircraft underwent comprehensive upgrades, with meticulous attention to quality and safety standards. The project was completed slightly ahead of the planned timeline, and the aircraft is now fully operational with the new avionics suite.
