Culture at WASI

Employee Engagement

WASI’s Employee Engagement team dedicated the year to organizing enjoyable events and activities. From serving hotdogs and hamburgers for the Fourth of July to hosting Tailgate Dip Offs and celebrating National Ice Cream Day, every month presented a chance to celebrate special occasions and unite the team. In addition to these events, the WASI team also takes time each month to recognize those with birthdays and work anniversaries that month.

Employee Engagement is important for many reasons, but ultimately, these efforts by the Employee Engagement team contribute to a positive workplace culture where employees are motivated, engaged, and inspired to contribute their best each day.

‘”The numerous Employee Engagement sponsored events held at WASI throughout the year goes a long way in supporting an ongoing positive work environment for team WASI. The Engagement team does a really nice job of mixing up the type of events and keeping it interesting”.

National AMT Day

To commemorate National AMT Day on May 23, MAC, CSA, and WASI dedicated time to celebrate the hard-working and dedicated mechanics we are privileged to work with. With catered lunches and a special gift given to each mechanic, the day was filled with gratitude and celebration. A heartfelt thank you to our AMTs for ensuring the smooth operation of our aircraft and services.

Pi Day Celebration

To celebrate Pi Day, WASI provided a pizza and pie lunch for the employees and held a fundraiser event.  Any member of WASI leadership was eligible to be nominated for a pie in the face by employees donating funds for votes, one vote for $1, six votes for $5, or 13 votes for $10 and the top two votes would receive the pie in the face.  All of the proceeds we raised went to “The Kitchen”, a local charity that assists with the Springfield homeless population.

WASI’s General Manager, Brad Selle had the incredible opportunity to visit State Technical College of Missouri for their Career Expo. State Tech brought together employers from Missouri and beyond, introducing their students to a world of employment possibilities.

Among the various programs offered, State Tech boasts an Aviation Maintenance Technology degree, and WASI had the pleasure of connecting with current students in the Aviation Maintenance program and their dedicated faculty.

WASI engaged in insightful conversations, addressing questions from eager students. Topics ranged from explaining the intricacies of a  part 145 Repair Station to detailing the specific equipment maintained  and shedding light on employment opportunities within Worldwide Aircraft Services.

We’re proud to be part of initiatives that support and inspire the aviation professionals of tomorrow!
